Expected results
  1. Geographical information system (GIS) of infrastructural and spatial data regarding Vršac Municipality
  2. Improving municipal technical capabilities by setting up an interactive web page with different levels of access to GIS data.
  3. Municipal staff educated in using GIS and e-government solutions, negotiation and communication, as well as applying for EU funded grants necessary for further improvement of e-government solutions applied within Municipality of Vršac
  4. Increased awareness of general and expert public regarding GIS system

Summary of the project

The general aims are to improve local development through increasing spatial data quality and its faster distribution and to address customer needs by providing Web-GIS technology. It is also important to deliver a sustainable contribution to solving spatial data challenges in Vršac municipality by realising an open infrastructure for the exchange of geo-information.

 In order to ensure good governance, economic and social growth, environmental protection and sustainability, one of the goals is to maximise the availability and effective use of GIS.

 The final objective is to create of a framework that allows easy and transparent access from informational, organisational and legal perspectives.

  As for specific point of view, the project is designed to enhance local capacities for municipal management and service delivery by educating municipal staff in e-government technologies. The project will contribute to rationalisation in use of resources by improving remote approach to properties data. It is also focused on improvement the quality of life in the municipality by enabling faster access to information about properties.

Establishing e-government and geographic informational system improves sustainable development and makes more efficient work of town’s administration. It will increase the transparency and accessibility for use of governed-owned geo-information.
