Expected results
  1. Completed and applied methodology for civil assessment of public procurement performance in the security sector, which includes a gender dimension;
  2. Strengthened capacities of 7 civil society organisations (CSOs) for monitoring and assessing procurement performance in the security sector;
  3. Reached consensus among CSOs, the State Audit Institution, MPs and police and military trade unions on the necessity for regular performance assessment of public procurement;
  4. Raised public awareness on the importance of an efficient and effective procurement process in the security sector.

Summary of the project

The project focuses on increasing transparency and efficiency of public procurement procedures in security institutions at both the national and local levels. Local CSOs are trained in performance assessment, after which they conduct case studies of procurement planning at the local level. The project raises public awareness on corruption, its specific manifestations, and anti-corruption mechanisms.
