Expected results
  1. Increased knowledge and skills of public prosecutors related to the Financial Management System (FMC) and contributed to the established of the FMC system in pilot Public Prosecution Offices (PPOs)
  2. Increased knowledge of CSOs in the field of prosecutors operations and work as a result of round tables and seminars
  3. Improved mechanisms for CSOs role and active participation in decision making process related to the prosecutors’ system reform in Serbia
  4. The implementation of FMC set of measures limited excessive discretion of PPO employees in criminal cases, eliminated different standards for each PPO, and reduced exposure to corruption
  5. Raised awareness on importance of implementation of FMC system in PPOs as efficient anticorruption prevention tool
  6. Results of the activities implemented were made into recommendations and included into final publication of the project.
Beneficiary

CSOs which will be directly involved in project activities and will expand their networking and partnership; other CSOs from Serbia that will use project results (monitoring methodology, experiences, etc.); Judiciary members who will be directly involved in project activities as well as their colleagues who will learn from their experience; Citizens who will have possibility for more active role in policy making and decision making process as well as in benefits from more transparent work of judiciary.

Summary of the project

This project supports creating a partnership between CSOs and prosecutors in order to introduce accountability, efficiency, and transparency, to prevent corruption, and to increase the consistency of working procedures. Representatives of CSOs, prosecutors and prosecutors’ staff, and local self-governments will work together on creating monitoring mechanisms for public prosecutors offices’ (PPOs) work.

Programme/Project objectives

The overall objective of the project was to support to establishment of CSO’s – prosecutors’ partnership in order to introduce prosecutor’s accountability, efficiency and transparency in managing daily operations in order to prevent corruption risks and increase the consistency of working procedures.
