Expected results
  1. Three writers from Serbia performed at Polip literary festival in Pristina  and three Kosovar writers performed at Krokodil literary festival in Belgrade. In total, around 3000 people participated at POLIP festival.
  2. Three writers from Kosovo spent a month each in Krokodil's residence for writers in Belgrade while three writers from Serbia spent a month each in Qendra Multimedia's residence for writers in Pristina.   3. Two study groups travelled from Kosovo to Serbia and vice versa in order to get closely acquainted with local cultural and literary scenes, as well as with the media outlets and the most outstanding civil society organisations.
  4. Project managed to significantly intensify Kosovar-Serbian literary communication and succeeded to involve around 100 artists.

Writers, students, professionals in the fields of culture, journalism, publishing and civil sector, translators, general public, young people, different minority groups in both Serbia and Kosovo.

Summary of the project

Polip festival from Pristina and Krokodil festival from Belgrade are coming together for a series of events and residential programs. They are stimulating cultural dialogue among the countries of the Western Balkans to promote culture of reading, bringing the writers from Kosovo and Serbia in the focus of attention. The project also includes a one-month writers-in-residence exchange. 

Programme/Project objectives

Polip festival from Pristina and Krokodil festival from Belgrade will come together for a series of events and residential programs in Belgrade and Pristina. By this joint organization, they will stimulate cultural dialogue among the countries of the Western Balkans to promote culture of reading, bringing the writers from Kosovo and Serbia in the focus of attention. Each festival will last for three days and will present 15 authors from Serbia, Kosovo and the WB region. The other part of the project is the writers-in-residence exchange. One-month stay will be ensured for six writers from Kosovo and Serbia, in attempt to intensify cultural exchange between two countries.
