- Enhanced process of capacity building of grass-root civil society organizations, particularly from rural and less developed areas in Serbia to implement local actions targeting issues of public concern in their municipalities;
- 35 grass-root CSOs from 29 local communities in Serbia were successfully implementing local initiatives, targeting issues of public concerns;
- Concrete benefits for the local communities created: building and renovating public spaces, environmental actions, culture and arts, intercultural understanding, social inclusion of marginalized groups and supporting bicycling;
- More than 8945 citizens were actively engaged in implementation of 35 local community actions.
3000 citizens and 300 representatives of marginalized groups in minimum 20 communities in Serbia.
Summary of the project
This project is supporting grassroots CSOs in local communities throughout Serbia, particularly those from rural and underdeveloped areas. The main goal is to provide action grants and technical support to grassroots CSOs which engage citizens in decision making processes in local communities, with the aim of making them aware of the legal framework and helping them enlist support and get in contact with national level actors.
Overall objective of this project was to support active participation of grass-root civil society throughout Serbia in democratic transition by supporting their influence on policy and decision making process in local communities.
