Expected results
  1. Citizens, CSO and SME provided with free legal advices and services in ALAC, enabling them to launch initiatives or reports for grievances;
  2. Improved legal framework, procedures and practices of public institutions based on at least 20 TS, citizens’ and CSO initiatives;
    1. Information about budget planning and spending available in the Information Directories (ID) of cities and municipalities (app. 160).

Summary of the project

This project empowers CSOs, citizens and small and medium enterprises witnessing corruption, maladministration or lack of transparency in public finances to address their initiatives and reports and thereby to hold institutions accountable. It also works on strengthening the ability and willingness of institutions to receive and act upon complaints and identifies weak points in the system (e.g. legal loopholes).

Programme/Project objectives

This project seeks to strengthen the quality of democratic governance by facilitating and inciting citizens to participate in the fight against corruption and maladministration, to effectively hold their government accountable and contribute to systemic improvements.
