Expected results
  1. Established strong monitoring network of PLHIV organizations and CSOs with the capacity to engage in ongoing PLHIV rights monitoring to achieve positive change;
  2. Increased responsiveness of national civil society networks to the protection needs of PLHIV through joint monitoring activities of all interested parties;
  3. Improved cooperation between civil society, media, policy makers and independent human rights institutions responsible for discrimination prevention, promotion and ensuring antidiscrimination actions.

Summary of the project

This Action provides direct support, capacity building and mentoring in the process of human rights monitoring to persons living with HIV/AIDS. It will collect data on human rights violations through monitoring of the implementation of the legal framework, and strategic documents, and it will enhance the system of monitoring by CSOs, providing material for complaints and legal cases.

Programme/Project objectives

The overall objective is to empower the role of civil society in protecting and promoting the rights of PLHIV by creating and supporting strong and sustainable national networks of PLHIV organisations and other CSOs in Serbia, with skills and experience to engage in ongoing PLHIV rights monitoring, reporting on rights violations and fight against discrimination.
